TMZ.com reported yesterday that they have learned Ronda Rousey has made history by signing a deal to become the first woman UFC fighter, she apparently will enter the Octagon in 2013. It is unclear how Rousey submitted Dana White into her groundbreaking stature as the inaugural woman fighter of the UFC. White has said in the past he had no interest in womens MMA and that they would never see the inside of the octagon. Apparently the embattled Olympian and Strikeforce vet was too much of a commercial commodity, with her angelic good looks and devilish warrior spirit, and of course there was Tate Vs. Rousey.
Rousey is not one to shade away from mixing words and backing them up with fists to the face, and Miesha Tate has been the foe of focus for much of these antics. Miesha, herself, after congratulating the rumor of Ronda's signing shortly twitted that she too would be joining the ranks of the MMA elite and was signed with UFC as well.
@MieshaTate:
"So Stoked to be fighting for the @UFC it's been
a dream of mine for along time! SO happy it's finally
come true
:-D"
