Following are excerpts from this week’s episode:

ROME: What do you think of the decision by the 49ers and Jim Harbaugh today to make Colin Kaepernick the starting quarterback? How do you think Harbaugh has handled that entire situation?

DREW ROSENHAUS: I love it. I absolutely love it. He made the right call. This quarterback is an up-and-coming superstar. They win with Alex Smith, but they get to the next level with Kaepernick. Most importantly when I talked to my clients on the team, they love Kaepernick and they support Harbaugh, who’s trying to show respect for both guys.

DONOVAN McNABB: I don’t agree with the decision. I did like what they were doing with Kaepernick bringing him on that read option and just changing up the pace with the run game. (But) Alex Smith didn’t do anything to lose this job.

ROSENHAUS: Kaepernick is a more talented guy. He can make throws that Smith can’t make. The guy can make plays with his arm and his feet that Smith just doesn’t have the ability to make.

ROME: The Eagles have lost seven in a row. Do the Eagles make a move and fire head coach Andy Reid right now? Or do they let him finish out the season?

McNABB: I think he’s earned the right to finish off the year. I think it’s a respect thing and also to give him a chance to groom some of the younger guys. Obviously, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be back next year. But I think it’s important that you give him that respect and let him finish out the season.

ROME: What happens when you’re in that town and the town is sick of you? Do they have to make a move?

McNABB: I’ve been a part of that situation. But as an owner and as a GM you can’t listen to the fans. You have to make a decision that’s in-house and make the right decision. Andy Reid is now the face of the franchise and the quarterback is the one who gets most of the criticism as well. At what point are we going to look at the GM situation. Joe Banner’s gone so you can’t blame him. Now you have Howie Roseman who has been making the decisions and bringing guys in which blows the chemistry out of the water.

ROME: What’s it like now after 20 years of having to eat some crow and have people mock your beloved Fighting Irish, to be sitting where you are now, how does it feel?

REGIS PHILBIN: I feel like I’m a freshman again, Jim! I’m a freshman! It’s 1949 and I’m there with Frank Leahy at the end of a four-year unbeaten run. We can NEVER be beaten. And that’s what it feels like. Honest to God.

ROME: Georgia or Alabama. Who would you rather play?

PHILBIN: I’d rather play Alabama. I think they are probably the second best team in the country. They’re a dynamite team every year. They’ve got a great coach Nick Saban who used to give us fits when he coached at Michigan State and we had to play them every year. That’s the team that I want to play and beat this year. Alabama gets all the buzz and so that’s the team we want to be.

ROME: Ever been in a fight with a guy?”

RONDA ROUSEY: “Yes. I got in a fight with a couple of guys at the end of 2007 in a movie theatre. It was four couples so four guys and one girl tried to get into it. And I had two friends with me. But I was only really handling two guys by myself. They sued me for assault because it didn’t really go too well for them. I guess if you lose a fight in Santa Monica the next option is to sue. Everyone in the theatre was cheering for me. I was thinking I might have a future in this. It was before the whole MMA thing.”
