FRESNO,
CA – UPC has wasted little time in loading up its first event with some of the
top fighters in Central California for UPC 12 at Chukchansi Gold Resort &
Casino. Fresno heavyweight Brando Cash
(5-3) will look to regain his winning form as he meets undefeated Javy Ayala
(4-0) from Porterville in the Main Event. Cash, a Strikeforce veteran, once considered a
top heavyweight prospect in the MMA community will be looking to end his
current losing streak September 22.
Ayala is no stranger to being the underdog as he has pulled off upsets
in his last 2 bouts to improve to 4-0. “We
have been working on the Cash vs Ayala fight for quite some time and I am
thrilled we were able to keep our commitment to them and make it happen” Jason
Weiner, UPC President stated. “This is a
Turning Point fight for each fighters and I expect them both to leave
everything inside the ring on Sept. 22.”
Visalia’s Elite Team MMA will bring two of
its top prospects to UPC 12 as Steve Urias (3-1) takes on Fresno’s Paul Ruiz
(3-1) in a co-main event matchup of 2 young rising stars in Central California.
Both these bantamweights will be looking to move themselves up the food chain
with a win and local bragging rights! Cain
Carrizosa (3-0) will put his undefeated record on the line against American
Kickboxing Academy Lightweight Reese Brown (1-1). Brown comes from one of the most heralded MMA
gyms in the world; San Jose based AKA and will present Carrizosa with his
biggest test to date.
Art Becerra, Thrive MMA Fresno, will take on
undefeated AKA prospect Gabe Carrasco in a bantamweight showdown. This matchup has “fight of the night” written
all over it as both fighters go fast and hard for the entire match. Rounding out the card will be the
professional debut for 2 local fighters, Fresno’s Tim Eastom takes on former
Clovis High wrestler Jason Williams.
Eastom is one of the top ranked amateurs in California will look to make
a splash on the professional scene.
