West Coast Fighting Championship will once again be taking
over the Yuba/ Sutter Fairgrounds on September 8th as "Resolution"
hits town. Featuring three title fights, this card is packed with power
punchers and skilled submission artists.
In the main event, Tim "The Wrecking Machine"
McKenzie steps out of the booth and in to the cage the face "The Raw
Deal" Justin Baesman. Baesman, the current WFC Welterweight Champion,
moves up to middleweight to try and become the first to hold WFC titles in two
weight classes. He faces UFC veteran McKenzie, who is skilled on the feet as
well as the ground winning 8 of his fights by KO and 5 by submission. Both men
will fight it out and see who reigns as the inaugural middleweight champion.
In the co-main event of the evening. WFC Light Heavyweight
Champion Anthony "A-Train" Ruiz puts his belt on the line against
Knockout artist Scott "Hands of Steel" Smith. Ruiz, coming off a TKO
victory over Scott Rosa looks to defend his title once again against power
puncher Smith. Smith, known for his KO victories in the UFC against Pete Sell,
and his impressive comeback KO victories
in Strikeforce against Cung Le and Benji Radach, looks to once again have his
hand raised in the cage. Ruiz has never been knocked out in more than 40
fights, but if there's anybody that can do it, Smith would be the man. We will
see it all unfold on September 8th.
We also look to crown the inaugural Heavyweight Champion as
Josh "The Juggernaut" Appelt takes on Freddie "Bigg"
Acquitania. Both men had impressive TKO stoppage wins in June in the first
round of the WFC Heavyweight tournament. They each look to replicate that
performance and have the belt put around their waist in the cage in Yuba City .
Also on the card:
Jaime Jara vs. Richard Rigmaden
Kito Andrews vs. Marcus Gaines
Scott Rosa vs. Jeremy Rosales
Mike Gonzalez vs. Nick Kohring
Kyle Dundas vs. Justin Linn
Keni Renta vs. Antoine Smith
Kory Morford vs. Bernard Collins
