KING OF THE CAGE “DOUBLE DOWN”

Saturday, October 13th, 2012 King of the Cage Inc. the world wide leader in live MMA events and Magnaflow Exhaust products and Lucas Oil presents “Double Down.” This event will be held at the beautiful Gold Country Casino Resort located in Oroville California.

Returning to the King of the Cage line up is a local favorite Josh Hinkle. Josh was the #1 contender for the 170 lb Welterweight Belt and is now dropping to 155 to prove himself as a contender for that belt as well. Josh a veteran in the sport first stepped into the KOTC arena in November 2011 at the “Cage Quest” event; fighting through a hand that was broken in the 1st round and then all the way to a decision against Kenneth Alexander. Proving his game has not been affected by that set back, he takes on Kyle “The Jackhammer” Jackson. Jackson has a will to win and a never tap mentality which in this fight could end in the breaking of something. This fight is sure to be the highlight of the night as these two elite fighters take it all the way.

Also, tribal member Aaron Hedrick and a fellow teammate of Josh Hinkle returns again to King of the Cage fighting Tramain Smith who trains under Northern California legend Dave Huckaba. Both fighters have 10 professional fights, both have good stand up and good ground defense and both have more to prove.

For some female fight entertainment we welcome Latasha Marzolla from Gene Fields's Team Voodoo to her professional fighting debut. She began her love for competition while on her High School Junior Varsity Wrestling Team. This former K1 contender, WWE wrestler, mother of two and 2004 Playmate of the Year will prove she is in the right place at the right time when she takes on Maria “The Real Deal” Andaverde. This mother of four started her fight career in amateur boxing at the age of 16. She discovered 10 yrs later, that Mixed Martial Arts was where her destiny lied. She has trained in many styles including Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing and wrestling and when asked about training with women she says that “its hard to find a woman who doesn't mind being hit”; so training with male teammates definitely pushes her harder than any woman could. She also adds that “perhaps everyone wants to see me beat up the bunny, but all I want to do is stand and bang it out to a win”.

A rivalry that has been a point of contention for quite awhile in this Northern California area is between KOTC Veteran Marcus “Little Tank” Ocegueda and Caleb Vallotton. These two combatants have wrestled each other through High School and both went on to train in MMA. Since fighting for KOTC in April of this year, Marcus has opened his own training center in Chico called Elite Martial Arts. As amateurs they were never matched yet the rivalry still lives on and on October 13th we'll see who has the upper hand in this struggle between these two warriors.

Also on this card is KOTC Veteran Josh Paiva fighting Robby Schepps, Nick Christie, Daniel Price, Khomkrit “Killer B” Niimi, Brandon Waltz, Brennon Crow, Russell Pricer, Tyson Taclay, Mike Franco, Matt Wilson, Eddie McCleary
