Charles Gracie Invitational Jiu-Jitsu Tournament Date Changed to Saturday, December 15th!

Due to unforeseen complications with the previously scheduled tournament date, it has become necessary for me to reschedule the 5th Annual Charles Gracie Invitational Jiu-Jitsu Tournament. Fortunately, the tournament will still be held at the same location in Lathrop, California, at the Main Gym of Lathrop High School located at 647 Lathrop Rd., Lathrop, CA 95330. In my previous e-mail I announced that the 2012 Charles Gracie Invitational would be held November 4th, at Lathrop high school. The new and official date of the tournament is now Saturday, December 15th. By switching to this date we were able to keep the tournament at Lathrop High School.

The tournament this year is going to be special for 4 reasons:

1st: We will be adding to our entry registration team with three Check-in tables, and opening the facility to entry an hour earlier for the kids and their parents.

2nd: More students than ever will be competing! The tournament has grown in numbers every year and we are expecting record numbers yet again.

3rd: Everyone will now have more time to train and be prepared for the tournament!

4th: This year we will have a champion of the champion’s belts up for grabs along with some new twists that will be announced closer to the tournament date!

Due to our tournament being re-scheduled, belt promotions will be moved from December to Early January 2013! Please keep in mind that this year we will be using the tournament as an evaluation tool and counting participation towards our belt promotions! The reason we have decided to make this modification is because tournament participation is a crucial part of the learning process of jiu-jitsu. All students who want to be considered for belt promotions are highly recommended to participate in the tournament!

Lastly, speaking about the upcoming the tournament and the belt promotion, what better way to sharpen your game than to take a private lesson? There is no quicker way to improve than to have a specific weakness you encounter ongoing addressed directly. Ask the instructors for details. They will be happy to help to make solid lasting progress in your skills.

Remember, this is a great opportunity for you to put the extra effort in to your training for the upcoming tournament and belt promotion. Please join us for another unforgettable day.

Win or lose, it is, beyond all else a great experience and a lot of fun. Let’s get ready to rumble!

Best regards,

Master Charles Gracie
